What happens to your address
The newsletter is run by Buttondown, a separate company. This site does not store your address. When you press Subscribe, your browser sends the address you typed to buttondown.com (along with your IP address and browser details, as any request does), and Buttondown takes over from there, including any confirmation step. Nothing is sent to Buttondown before you press the button, and this page loads no script from Buttondown. The Buttondown page you continue to may set its own cookies. How Buttondown handles the address is covered by its privacy policy. The full picture of what this site sends where is on the privacy page.
